As we mark the first anniversary of the Institute for Clinical Immuno-Oncology (ICLIO), we’d like to take a look back at what’s been accomplished and a look ahead at what’s in store for 2016. ACCC launched ICLIO in recognition of a critical need to bring together multidisciplinary leaders in the field of immunotherapy to help accelerate application of immunotherapy in the community setting. In June 2015 the ICLIO website launched. Today, accc-iclio.org offers robust content curated to present actionable information and resources that members of the cancer care team can put to work in their programs to serve their patients.
Visitors to accc-iclio.org can access a growing archive of expert-led ICLIO webinars on topics ranging from understanding variation in immuno-oncology response patterns and implications for treatment, to managing adverse events associated with I-O agents, to immuno-oncology management best practices, and more. Archived ICLIO webinars focus on educational topics relevant to clinicians, supportive care providers, and fellows-in-training.
Over the past months, a series of ICLIO e-newsletters have provided rich editorial content, including interviews, practical tools, and resources for multidisciplinary cancer care team members interested in putting immunotherapies in practice.
ICLIO convened immunotherapy pioneers for the 1st ICLIO National Conference for a rich discussion on the “real-life” applications of immunotherapy. Slides and podcasts from the conference are available for on-demand access.
Read the recently published ICLIO white paper, “Advancing Immuno-Oncology in the Community Setting,” for an in-depth look at ICLIO’s first year accomplishments.
As we head into 2016, stay tuned for next steps from ICLIO including the launch of an e-learning modules series covering the four ICLIO content domains.
